The Pininfarina Battista is back in the news with its new special edition. Meet the *takes deep breath* Battista Edizione Nino Farina. Yes, it's a long name, but rightly so as it pays homage to the first ever F1 world champion Giuseppe Antonio 'Nino' Farina - who was also the nephew of company founder Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina.

The big changes are made to the exterior which looks very tasteful now. The customized Rosso Nino paint job honors Nino Farina's race cars and is applied to the unique Battista. The distinctive livery on the lower body, finished in Bianco Sestriere and Iconica Blu, which can also be seen in a pinstripe pattern on each wing mirror cap, matches the red hue finish.

The back panel behind the door also sports a lovely "01" decale in Bianco Sestriere, and the wheels are a brand-new 10-spoke Glorioso design made of forged aluminum with a standout Satin Gold finish.

Step inside and you will find a two-tone theme cabin with the driver’s seat wearing black leather and the passenger's seat finished in beige and black Alcantara. Different finishes for the two seats are rather cool indeed. An ‘01’ graphic embroidered in gold on the driver headrest while the passenger seat flaunts the Pininfarina logo in red.

The steering wheel looks really sporty with black Alcantara, exposed carbon and the plate that bears the ‘Nino Farina’ signature finished in brushed aluminium.

The powertrain remains unchanged with the four electric motors driving each of the four wheels. The motors get juice from a 120kWh T-shaped battery pack which runs down the car’s spine and all the way behind the seats.

The Battista Edizione Nino Farina has a whopping 1,877 horsepower and 2,340 Nm of torque on offer. This makes the electric hypercar capable of doing 0-62 mph in 1.86 secs and flat-out at 217 mph (350 km). If range matters to you, the Battista offers a range of up to 476 km according to the WLTP cycle, which should be plenty for an electric hypercar.

Former Formula One driver and hillclimb record holder Nicholas Heidfeld will be driving the Battista Edizione Nino Farina when it makes its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
