Quick Review

Rumour has it that the Galant is close to being put out to pasture after 2012, having last seen a redesign in 2004. The Galant is showing its age, and facing stiff competition with the sprightlier models in the affordable midsize car segment anymore. The Galant is adequate as a basic commuter vehicle but nothing more. It's comfortable ,roomy and comes with nice powertrain. Other midsized cars in the same price range can rival it on almost every point. Design-wise, its exterior styling looks dull and its interior materials are satisfactory. It offers little luggage space and its automatic transmission could be better. The technology used in the Galant also feels very outdated.

The Volkswagen Passat, is a competitive choice if you want a reliable, roomy car. Another possibility is the Toyota Camry. The Camry may be a little bland on the outside, but boasts excellent fuel efficiency and a high-quality interior. For a fresh look, consider the Hyundai Sonata or the Mazda 6, both of which have similar advantages to the Passat and Camry, plus eye-catching exterior styling.

The Galant is an affordable family sedan which might appeal to the budget shopper who is really only concerned with getting from A to B.The Galant is a smooth and comfortable drive. The acceleration is good and the handling is crisp. Engine noise isn't too loud and exterior noise is minimal.
