Fifty years after debuting one of the world’s most popular cars, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Carroll Shelby’s original high-performance Super Snake, which was released back in 1967, created to honour five decades of Mustang heritage & we’re lucky to get our hands on one of these Shelby models.
We have to say we are blown away with the quality & driving experience of these generation Ford Mustang’s and an overall feeling that puts a proper smile on your face and puts this car in the realms of its German competitors but at a fraction of the price & the Super Snake can outperform the Mustang Shelby GT350R in just about every way possible.
Shelby upgraded a host of other features on the Mustang as well. The Super Snake has new dampers, anti-roll bars, springs, and bushings. Also has black 20-inch forged aluminium wheels, six-piston Brembo brake callipers in the front and four-piston callipers in the rear, and upgrade cooling for the brakes and engine. Available with an automatic or manual transmission, Power begins as a Mustang GT with its 5.0-liter V-8, but with the added Whipple supercharger and tuning kicks it up to 750 horsepower & can do zero-100 in 3.5 seconds!
Take a step inside the Shelby and we find a new gauge cluster on the dashboard that features wireless gauges from Autometer. Complementing that inclusion are more of the same anniversary logos on the seats and floor mats, as well as special door sill plates, and a plaque on the dashboard that denotes the serial number of a specific model.
