Quick Review

If you’re looking for an affordable crossover with enough space for the whole family, then the Kia Sportage is a great car to consider.

The 2013 Sportage gets upgraded suspension tuning for improved handling, alongside better sound insulation to keep the cabin quiet. There’s a better balance of style and substance with this year’s version, making it a car that’s both practical, fun to drive and pleasing to look at.

The interior of the Kia is well laid out with good build quality. There’s plenty of room for three adult passengers in the back - as long as they’re not too tall. Although not the biggest in its class, the Kia has a large enough boot, which is again thoughtfully constructed so you can make the most of all the available space.

The Sportage is a fun car to drive, although the ride can be a bit fidgety and perhaps a little on the firm side. The 2.0L base engine is good, and the firm suspension makes for agile handling.

Compared to its rivals, the Kia Sportage is well priced. The Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester are worthy rivals.

The Kia Sportage is a fun to drive, practical and good looking car – overall, it’s a versatile and enjoyable family SUV crossover.
