Quick Review

The Chevrolet Optra is one of many 4 door sedans in Chevrolet's line up yet it manages to differentiate itself from the rest in a number of ways. Though the Optra is re-badged and sold across a number of countries, it's worldwide success is based on a combination of good looks and affordability.

The Optra is fitted with a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine that produces 107 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. Mated to an automatic transmission, the Optra achieves 0 – 100km/h in 11.5 seconds and a top speed of 175km/h. Due to the small engine size, the Optra is able to achieve splendid results in terms of fuel efficiency, sipping just 8.1 liters / 100km.

The interior of the Optra is blessed with the same good looks of the exterior. A great sound system, an A/C that wont struggle in keeping you cool and a drivers seat with plenty of adjustments to ensure you have the ideal driving position, are only some of the reasons an Optra is a wonderful choice. Like all other Chevrolet's, safety features are abundant and have not been compromised in the Optra. Anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger airbags and rear window defogger are just some of the safety features offered as standard across the Optra range.

As for the exterior, the Optra is a decent looking sedan that wont attract a tonne of attention in traffic but definitely isn't an embarrassing car to drive around town. The Mazda 2 Sedan and Toyota Corolla are a few cars that should definitely be looked at before considering the purchase of an Optra.
