Dubai Flooding

Following the heavy rainfall and the subsequent flooding that took place across the UAE over the past few days, the Insurance Authority has confirmed that vehicles damaged in the recent rains and floods will be covered by their respective insurance companies as the event is not one of a natural disaster.

The Authority noted that insurance policies that include the risk of loss or damage in a natural disaster will be covered, as floods, hurricanes, and other such events fall into the category of natural disasters. The decision to do so is issued by a competent authority in the country.

Motorists are advised to check their insurance policies and get in touch with their respective insurance companies should their cars be affected. All road users are also advised to drive with caution as the roads may still be slippery and there may still be a few water ponds in certain areas of the country.
