Hyundai Elantra 2018

Receiving a full makeover for the 2018 model year, the Hyundai Elantra is aiming squarely for the title of best compact car on the market today. Adding some new features while fixing some of its flaws from the previous years’ model, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra is great enough to be one of the best cars available in Oman showrooms today.

Exterior

The 2018 features an all-new body design that is every bit as dynamic as the model it replaced. It incorporates long flowing lines, creating a sedan design with a fastback look. Perhaps more important than the skin-deep details is the improved rigidity of the Elantra’s body shell, arguably the biggest weakness of the outgoing model. This improvement results in better handling, better comfort, better dynamics, and presumably better durability.

Interior

Hyundai Elantra 2018 interior

The Elantra comes in with one of the best interiors in its class. Coming in with massive cabin size, entry and exit are made simple. Riders in both front and rear get to enjoy excellent headroom and legroom, though sitting 3 adults at the rear is trickier than usual. The quality of materials used in the interior in general is of solid quality. The seats and upholstery never look cheap, and all dials, switches, and gauges work, as they should be.

Features

The 2018 Hyundai Elantra comes with an abundance of standard features. It comes standard with air conditioning, power accessories, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, satellite radio, and a 6-speaker sound system. It also comes standard with the safety equipment expected from today’s cars such as a full complement of airbags and anti-lock brakes. With multiple trim options to choose from, you got all kinds of options for dressing up your Elantra.

Specs

The Elantra currently comes with 2 engine options. The base engine is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine that has a maximum output of 127 horsepower. A larger 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine offers better performance potential with its maximum output of 150 horsepower. You can get a manual gearbox for the 1.6-liter engine variant, but the 2.0-liter variants are only available with an automatic transmission. While both engines seem underpowered by today’s standard, they both run smoothly and provide great fuel economy.
