Maserati and Jaguar, both known for producing luxury sports cars, released the Levante and the F-Pace a little over a year ago in 2016. Both models are Sport Utility Vehicles or SUVs, which promise speed, space, and a generous amount of road presence.

Exterior

The 2017 Maserati Levante has a classy design which lives up to the expectations of the brand and its clientele. It has bi-xenon headlamps, an acoustic front windshield, led daytime running lights, and 19-inch wheels. It stands at 1.7m tall, with a length of 5.0 meters and a width of 2.2 meters.

The Jaguar F-Pace, on the other hand, stands at 1.65 meters, with a length of 4.73 meters and a width of 2.17 meters. Other notable features are adaptive headlights, dual exhaust tips, illuminated door handles, cornering lights, and door mirrors with side turn signals. Thus, although the Italian is slightly bulkier than its British rival, the latter has more to show than the former.

Interior

Both brands are also neck and neck in terms of interior features. The Levante and the F-Pace both have leather seats, leather steering wheels, steering tilt adjustments, multi information displays, and trip computers. They also have foldable read seats, foot well lights, map reading lamps, and power outlets. It is the Jaguar F-Pace, however, which offers a panoramic glass roof and a scuff plate in addition to these other features.

On the other hand, the Maserati Levante offers more safety features, with a 360 camera, acceleration skid control, a dynamic damper control, and an adaptive suspension package. The Maserati’s overall interior also exudes a more advanced and modern feel, a total opposite of the Jaguar’s dull minimalist design.

Performance

The Maserati Levante runs on a 3.0-liter engine that boasts an impressive 350 horsepower and 500 NM of torque. The engine is matched with an 8- speed transmission which makes it run to 250 km/h and allows it to reach the 100 km/h mark in six seconds.

Jaguar F Pace 2017 Side

In contrast, the Jaguar F-Pace has a 3.0-liter engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission capable of producing 340 horsepower and 450 NM of torque. It can reach speeds of up to 250 km/h and accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

Verdict

Priced at AED 329,000, most buyers often think twice about the 2017 Maserati Levante. With almost similar features, it is no wonder why the luxurious 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is the Italian brand’s biggest rival in the market. This is especially true since the British marque’s model is priced at AED 235,000, which is nearly AED 100,000 less than that of the Maserati.
